so here's a song that's been on my playlist at the moment. Stepping Stone - Duffy exams is in 3 days and my revision is nowhere near complete. i should be studying but everytime i go online, i'm superglued to the computer. die. oh yah, happy halloween! stupid exams, i cant go out tonight. and you all know how much i love to dress up. oh wells, i'll probably save the pinafore and fishnet stockings for next year's. i fucking hate exams. urgh! loves, ali joe recently, i was at my father's club to attend this event where they hand out study grants to the children of their members. and of course i was lucky enough to receive that study grant. $$$ the whole event started with this ridiculously hilarious performance. where 6 tone death performers decided to butcher a couple of Abba songs.  it felt like being at the auditions for american idols. you know, the part where they show all those sucky performers and you laugh at them. but hey, the mood at the event was rather dull and this performance did lighten up the atmosphere. the event continued with several speeches by the guest of honour and the chairman of the club. so i decided to sneak to the toilet to while the time away.  of course i cant resist a mirror camwhore moment. luckily i had my nintendo ds with me to keep me awake throughout the whole event. and so the event ended and we hang around for a little bit while my parents chatted witht heir friends.  with mum.  the parents.  the nice view from where we were. since my parents decided to have dinner with some of their friends there, i decided to meet up with Barney in town. he needed to look for an outfit to wear for some event so i decided to lend my expertise in picking clothes. and so while i gave him some thing to try on, i couldnt resist these huge mirrors you find near the fitting room.    i'm sorry, i cant help it. anyways, so Barney came dressed like this.  in his usual tshirt and jeans. and so i decided to give him smthing more preppy. and ladies and gentlemen, here is the new Barney!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  TADAH!!! so much better! well since he's happy, i'm happy. so my job here is done. all that hard work has made us hungry, so off to dinner it is!   lets have Korean!!! yummy!! hmm, maybe i should consider a job as a stylist eh? hahaha!! till next time. take care and have fun! loves, ali joe hello twentytwo. goodbye twentyone. today's paper was a really retarded one. oh, and who the hell sets an exam paper fully in the comic sans font. julie, julie, have you been out playing bingo for 2 weeks or something? the paper looks like it was set yesterday night on a laptop over dinner of hainanese chicken rice with the family. tsk tsk tsk. to note: i have no idea what the lecturer's name is and since she reminds me of that woman from The Sound Of Music, i decided to christen her Julie as in julie andrews. nevertheless, 1 down. 3 to go. i shall give myself a 2 day break before i venture into the next subject. so dust off your louboutin and slip into the balenciaga and lets party this long weekend away. loves, ali joe friendship is about effort. you go through certain phases in life like school, cca or work and you make friends. over the years, if you no longer put in effort to keep in touch with these friends, the friendship will just drift apart. with msn and sms being more widespread than melamine in every china product, keeping in touch is so easy no matter how busy you are. like i said, its all about effort. how much you put in is how much that friendship is valued to you. thats why, no matter how busy our schedules are, we (my poly gang and i) make it a point to get together every month. this time around we met up for dinner at Kenny Roggers Suntec City.   no pictures of food this time round as i only had my camera phone with me. i did take some pictures of the ribs and roasted chicken but they didnt turn out too nice for me to blog. i seriously need a camera soon. was thinking of a nice place that we can head to after dinner and since we were too full and lazy to venture anywhere else, we decided to take the escalator up to KBox. well, you see i'm not a big fan of going to such places. firstly, i hate the fact that they have mostly chinese songs to pick from. and secondly, i cant sing for nuts. and when i do, it not only rains, it pours. and thirdly, everytime i hold a microphone, i look like i'm about to give it a blow job. but since everyone else was keen on the idea, well, maybe it wont be so bad this time round.     well, the next thing i know, i reached home at 3am and my throat was sore from all the 'singing', especially when i screamed out the entire Bohemian Rhapsody. Twice. talk about hating going to kbox. lol. another point that proves having a great time is not about what you do or where you go. its about the company. remember folks, if you love me, text me. till the next time, ciao. loves, ali joe  amidst the never ending birthday celebrations i've been attending recently, another special one is just right around the corner. 28 Oct marks the birth date of someone i've been in love with for 22years. myself. i cant help it if i love myself right? so i'll just ignore the rolling of your eyes and move on. unfortunately, this year my birthday is sandwiched right in the middle of all my exams. unfortunate because i don't have the time to plan a rah rah soiree. but since the Retro Disco Chalet for my 21st was so last year, i guess this year i should tone it down a notch with... (: alright then, i better get to sleep soon. need to wake up early tomorrow and bake blueberry muffins for all those people coming to my house for Hari Raya tmr. enjoy the weekends. loves, ali joe DAMNNNNN!! i was supposed to start studying on monday and now, its already thursday. exams are like only 1 week away can!! seriously, i have no idea what i did for the past 3 days. apart from the non-stop binging at mcdonalds, watching gossip girls and other random online stuff, not a single studying was done. alright, i better get to my lecture notes right after i finish this entry. well, maybe i'll do a little brunch just before that. and a couple episodes of Desperate Housewives perhaps. anyways, as you might have noticed from the teaser on tuesday, this entry is gonna be another birthday entry. i know there's been a lot of birthday posts recently but i cant help it if all my friends celebrate theirs in the fall/winter season. this time around, its...  Happy Birthday Jiafang!!! we passed her this really huge and colorful birthday present at the train station and made her carry it all the way to Kallang. she was like damn embarrassed la. from Kallang Mrt we took a cab all the way to our secret location. even the taxi uncle was informed not to breathe any information about the destination. Jiafang was expecting to go to the beach probably for a picnic or something. but then the uncle stopped at the Singapore Indoor Stadium and we headed to our surprise location.  Brewerkz at the Stadium Waterfront. since my blog is turning into a food blog somehow, here are the obligatory pictures of what we had for dinner. we decided not to have the main course and instead share all random items we liked from the menu.  chicken cobb salad.  chili cheese fries.  buffalo wings.  calamari.  smoke salmon pizza.  lime margarita.  Overall Rating of Brewerkz Indoor Stadium. 6.5/10 well first thing first. every since i had that chicken cobb salad, it has affirmed my disgust for blue cheese. and i am someone who loves cheese. for the benefit of those who have not tried blue cheese, it taste wet socks. not that i have tasted one before. but that's the closest discription i can give. apart from that, the rest of the food we had was so-so. it wasnt exactly bad nor was it fantastic either. the food here is priced slightly above affordable with the salad being $18.99. so expect to pay at least $30 per person including drinks. there is nothing much to mention about the service as it was slightly below lukewarm. although there were sufficient staff around, getting the attention of one is slightly tiring. they have a tendency to hover around the 'ang moh' customers like flies to a dustbin. location is slightly inaccesbile unless you have a car but the whole atmosphere of the area was worth the travel. to end this, head over to Brewerkz Indoor Stadium to chill out with friends over drinks instead of food because obviously, that is what their known for in the first place.  now the girls call me a messy eater.   i dont think so. we told the staff in advance to suprise jiafang with the cake after we finished our dinner. we specifically told him it was our friend's birthday and requested whether we can get some staff to gather and sing a birthday song for jiafang. he said, ''yeah sure''. so we decided to distract jiafang by asking her to take pictures of me, sheryl and cecilia with the present, while we waited for the guy to come out with the cake, with the candle lighted up and a few staffs standing around singing Happy Birthday.  after quite a while of 'trying to distract jiafang'... this china-woman staff glides by and just slides this plate of cake on the table. with a potruding UNLIGHTED candle in the middle of the cake and then made her way to another table.  MAJOR WTF!!!! jiafang who was in the middle of taking our fotos (the distraction process) notices this chocolate cake on the table and had this 'oh did we order this?' look on her face. the other 3 of us had our jaws dropped to the wooden floors of Brewerkz. we had to go around Brewerkz asking for a lighter to light the candle ourselves. BLASPHEMOUS. but thank god, jiafang's not the petty sort. so we quickly moved on to her other suprise, the big box she's been carrying all the way from city hall mrt. lets pose with the present first.     there she blows.  lets cut the whole box open!  TADAH! thats the main present, a corkboard with a pin up collage with our letters folded in origami. of course there were other presents in the box like a dress and accesories to match but i dont seem to have the photos with me. haha. but of course, with such a nice location outside of Brewerkz, isnt it a little tempting to camwhore. so god forgive me for i cave in easily to temptations. so easily. especially since i've brought my tripod along.    there were 3 boxes of sparklers in the box of presents and after i accidentally burnt my thumb on the first one. nobody dared to touch the sparklers for the rest of the night. LOL!  nice right the view?  check out the bridge. loves the lights. time for the customary solo shots with the birthday girl.  sheryl's.  cecilia's.  mine.  time for emo shots.  jiafang & cecilia.  me & sheryl.  group.  i love these girls. but sadly, this entry has come to an end.  time to return back to our headquarters.
